MERZOUGA SAHARA JOURNEY

Departure early morning (around 07:00) from Marrakech.

Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m), with several panoramic stops along the way.

Visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed ksar known for its historic architecture and film heritage.

Continue to Ouarzazate, where you may stop for lunch and visit the local kasbah.

In the afternoon, drive through:

• Skoura Oasis

• Kalaat M’Gouna (Valley of Roses)

Arrival in the Dades Valley.

Dinner and overnight in a comfortable hotel.

After breakfast, visit the dramatic Dades Gorges, then continue toward the desert.

Stop in Tinghir, explore the palm groves and local villages, then visit the spectacular Todra Gorges, known for its towering canyon walls.

Continue your journey through:

• Rissani (historic caravan town)

• Erfoud

• Tafilalt Oasis

Arrival in Merzouga, at the edge of the Sahara.

In the late afternoon, begin your camel trek across the dunes (approx. 1–2 hours) to reach your desert camp.

Enjoy sunset over the dunes, followed by dinner and traditional music around the campfire.

Overnight in a desert camp.

Wake early to witness the sunrise over the dunes — a highlight of the journey.

Return by camel or 4x4 to Merzouga village.
